Academic Writing
My academic writing focuses on rhetorical analysis, institutional communication, and the ways language shapes public understanding. Through close analysis and data-supported interpretation, my work examines how arguments are constructed and how they function within broader social and political contexts.
Featured Analysis: Mary Fisher’s “A Whisper of AIDS”
This project analyzes the rhetorical and acoustic structure of Mary Fisher’s 1992 speech at the Republican National Convention. Using pitch, intensity, and timing data, the analysis examines how vocal delivery and rhetorical repetition create a sense of controlled urgency, particularly in the line: “If you believe you are safe, you are in danger.”
